Between Heart and Mind
Once I was blind
My feelings were in control
But then I got hurt
And let my heart go
Of all feelings inside
I gave my mind the feelings to hide
It washed my feelings away
For the risk of getting hurt it thought
Wasn't worth the pain
My mind repressed the feelings
Never to feel again
Until I didn't have any feelings left
But then the feelings came out
Screaming with such hurt
And that is when I finally learned
That somehow I must find
A compromise
Between heart and mind
