Show Review
Scout Bar 2/04/09
Crowd moshing and jumping by the first measure of music was a great way to kick off the set of my favorite underground band from England, Skindred . I have always loved metal and recent visits to Jamaica have since gotten me into reggae. Thanks to the band's unique mixture of the two, I was able to enjoy the unrelenting rhythms of metal and the positive messages and vocal melodies of reggae all in one night. “Roots Rock Riot” opened the high-energy show and was followed by kick ass Skindred songs such as “Ratrace”, “Pressure” (which was infused with a couple bars of Queen's “Pressure”), “Rude Boy”, “Trouble”, and “Nobody”. Singer, Benji Webbe entertainingly played and danced with his mini keyboard to close out the show. My only disappointment was that Skindred did not return with Sevendust the following Saturday as previously planned!
